Heavy Rainfall

Below is a quick update from the National Weather Service Melbourne on the heavy rain potential for this evening, tomorrow and possibly into Wednesday.
“A stalled frontal boundary across northernmost Florida will move very little through Wednesday.  South of this boundary, the air mass over east central Florida is extremely saturated, with moisture levels about as high as we ever see for late September outside of a tropical weather system.

A series of weak disturbances at both the surface and the upper levels will slide east from the Gulf of Mexico across the Florida peninsula over the next several days. This will produce rainy conditions tonight through Tuesday, with several periods of moderate to heavy rainfall expected.

A Flood Watch has been issued for all of east central Florida through 8 PM Tuesday evening. Widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are forecast, with isolated amounts of 3 to 5 inches, or a little higher, likely. Some of these rainfall amounts have already been approached with this afternoon's rainfall.

Current indications are that the heavy rainfall threat will extend through Tuesday night and Wednesday, and the watch may need to be extended beyond Tuesday evening.

Attached please find forecast rainfall graphics for the next two days:
